Zac Affleck, known for his role on 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,' discovered his wife Jen had filed for divorce by reading news reports about her visit to a Utah courthouse. The filing, confirmed by Page Six, coincided with their daughter Nora’s fifth birthday, yet the couple continued public celebrations before Jen withdrew from social media documentation of recent family events.
Reality television personality Zac Affleck learned that his wife, Jen Affleck, had filed for divorce by reading news reports detailing her visit to a Utah courthouse, sources told TMZ. The legal action was confirmed on Wednesday by Page Six, which reported that Jen submitted the petition in Utah County District Court on Tuesday.
The filing included a proposed parenting plan for the couple’s three young children: Nora, 4; Lucas, 3; and Penelope, 1. According to insiders close to the situation, Zac is now prioritizing their well-being amid the family’s dissolution. Jen, who is currently pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, filed the petition just hours after celebrating Nora’s fifth birthday.
Despite the public nature of the split, both Jen and Zac participated in the milestone celebration. Jen posted a photograph of Nora beside a new bicycle in a kitchen decorated with streamers and balloons, writing, “I can’t believe she’s already 5.” Zac shared a video of Nora blowing out candles on a birthday donut, captioning it, “Happy birthday Rara! I hope all your dreams always come true.”
However, Jen was notably absent from a social media reel Zac later posted documenting a theme park trip he took with his eldest daughter. The couple met on the Mormon dating app Mutual in 2018 and married the following year. Their first child, Nora, was born in November 2021, followed by Lucas in July 2023 and Penelope in July 2025. They announced their fourth pregnancy in June.
Jen and Zac have previously discussed marital difficulties on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” since the show’s first season. Jen stated that the couple attended therapy to resolve their issues, claiming it strengthened their relationship, though tension persisted through subsequent seasons. The reality stars have also highlighted conflicts regarding Jen’s career ambitions. Zac has been described as unsupportive of her desire to appear in “Sports Illustrated,” citing his upbringing in a “modest” household. Jen has alleged that Zac threatened to divorce her if she accepted an acting role involving a romantic relationship with another character.
Jen, a former contestant on “Dancing With the Stars,” is set to star in an upcoming spinoff of the Hulu series titled “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,” following the family’s relocation from Utah to Southern California.
